Community Therapy Services is a private, nonprofit agency that has been providing Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy services to clients, care providers and care organizations in Manitoba for over sixty years. We aim to enhance the quality of life and optimize the health and independence of our clients through direct and consultative services. 

Community Therapy Services (CTS) is seeking a Physiotherapist to provide service to remote northern First Nations communities on a fly-in basis.  Pay is as per MAHCP scale. 

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Must reside in the province of Manitoba
  • Entry-to-practice academic credential in Physiotherapy from an accredited Canadian university program or approved equivalent if internationally educated
  • Registered on the Active Practice Register with the College of Physiotherapists of Manitoba
  • Experience in community  practice an asset 

This position is subject to a Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search, an Adult Abuse Registry Check, and a Child Abuse Registry Check. Each successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred.

0.6 EFT STAFF PHYSIOTHERAPIST  

1 Year Term in Winnipeg Area

Community Therapy Services (CTS) is seeking a Physiotherapist to provide service to CTS programs within the Winnipeg area at 0.6 EFT for a 1-year term position with a strong possibility of extension. The Physiotherapist will assess clients’ physical and functional status within their environment by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting information obtained through observation, interview, record review and objective testing. The Physiotherapist will communicate their findings with the client’s care team and document results as per agency guidelines and professional standards. Pay is as per MAHCP scale. 

Requirements and Qualifications:

•Entry-to-practice academic credential in Physiotherapy from an accredited Canadian university program or approved equivalent if internationally educated

•Registered on the Active Practice Roster of the College of Physiotherapists of Manitoba

•Exam Candidates welcome to apply

•Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle

•Experience in community and/or long term care setting an asset 

•Competence in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values an asset

0.6 EFT STAFF OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Support & Consultation for Independent Living (SCIL) Program .6 FTE Indefinite term w/ possible permanence

Portability of benefits and seniority will be honored                  Classification: Staff Therapist – OT                    Hours: 22.5/week period

Site: Winnipeg Community                                                                Wage rate: as per MAHCP

Support & Consultation for Independent Living is a mental health focused Occupational Therapy program operated by
Community Therapy Services. SCIL provides recovery-oriented services to individuals experiencing mental illness, that are
focused in the area of independent community living.
Primary Responsibilities:
Reporting to the SCIL Program Coordinator, the SCIL Occupational Therapist is responsible for: planning and administering
comprehensive, individualized assessments; analyzing assessment data to develop and document relevant and meaningful
recommendations; implementing individualized intervention strategies to enable clients to reach recovery-oriented goals;
communicating / collaborating with healthcare professionals involved in clients’ care; acting as a resource to CTS staff and
WRHA CMHP staff on specific concerns related to cognition and / or mental health.


Qualifications:
 Baccalaureate or Masters degree in Occupational Therapy
 Registered and a member in good standing with COTM
 Minimum 5 years recent clinical experience in mental health service delivery
 Experience in community mental health preferred
 Valid MB driver’s license and vehicle to carry out job responsibilities
 Satisfactory criminal records check


Additional Requirements:
 Demonstrated understanding of recovery-oriented mental health service delivery
 Demonstrated skill in assessment of cognition and functional status / capacity, and use of a variety of relevant
assessment tools
 Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
 Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills
 Proficient computer skills and excellence in written communication skills (report-writing)
 Strong organizational and time management skills, and demonstrated ability to initiate and work independently
 Familiarity with WRHA Community Mental Health Program and Winnipeg community-based mental health services
and supports
 Familiarity with a wide range of tools, skills and models of practice relevant to mental health service delivery,
including: counselling skills, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, crisis intervention, suicide intervention, trauma
informed practice, CBT, DBT, harm reduction, co-occurring disorders, supported housing, psycho-social
rehabilitation, hoarding disorder, skills teaching strategies, cognitive intervention and cognitive adaptive strategies,
cross-cultural awareness, etc.
